Success Rates

Infertility SuccessMany couples care a lot about past success rates. That's understandable. You feel the clock is ticking, and you hope that a higher past success rate will give you a better chance.

However, it's not easy to make an apples-to-apples comparison of success rates. Many factors contribute to the success of any given procedure:

  • Training and experience of the assisted reproductive technology (ART) clinic and laboratory professionals
  • Quality of services they provide
  • Patients’ age, health, genetic factors and the cause of their infertility.

One place to look for information is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention web site. It has information on clinics nationwide. There's a link to the CDC web site at the end of this story. You are looking for information about ART procedures.

The CDC web site explains how to read the statistics and understand them. The web site also reminds you that numbers tell only part of the story. The CDC suggests that you contact clinics you are considering. Discuss your specific medical situation and the potential for success.

Lehigh Valley Hospital does not exclude any patient just because of her age. We achieved this high success rate because of the quality and number of treatment options available.
